(I've been advising her on building up a reputable account, and the way to go beyond and above every previous purchase. Everything mentioned is that her doing, I'm just an audience )
In this case, she had just gotten another $5 order on her logo gig, which seemed to be like any other... so we thought.
The order was fulfilled in good time, and my buddy had even included a bonus emblem concept in addition to the source file (which is usually a part of the more expensive package).
The customer"loved" among those concepts so we moved to deliver her the appropriates file sizes, as stated in the gig description. Soon after, things got a little weird.
The customer came back asking for a social networking kit to choose the emblem, something which is clearly not available as a member of her post.
Against my advice, my buddy chose to deliver the extra job, although not getting paid any extra for it.
Following that, the customer responded with even more demands and a few alterations to the social networking files.
At this point, she agreed enough was enough.
Despite every effort to please this person, they have been clearly overstepping their boundaries here.
This is when the customer went from only overstepping bounds to unquestionable blackmail. (The equivalent of taking my girlfriend's Fiverr reputation hostage.)
While she took some time to ponder a reply and reach out to Fiverr redirected here support for assistance, the customer did finally go on and leave a 1 star review.
Presumably this is to show her he/she wasn't Fiverr Review: How to Find Virtual Assistants that Don't Suck - Crowd ... kidding.
Shortly after, while still waiting on Fiverr's answer to the service question, the customer paid an additional $10 to your social networking kit.
Naturally, the payment was accompanied by still another threat.
Now, all I wished to do was move all Liam Neeson and seek this person down so that I could punch them in the face.
But, at the time, I had hope that Fiverr service could step in and save my girlfriend from this PITA client.
After the response came from Fiverr service, they told her they couldn't Fiverr review from a level 1 US Account / Forexcrow Services induce the purchaser to take the order.
Okay, that is fair enough. (though the buyer already accepted it, technically.)
In addition they proposed drawing up a listing for the buyer to show the job has been completed in accordance with the gig requirements.
Frankly, this response simply didn't cut the mustard.
My girlfriend communicated in her initial email that the client was hoping to extort her for free work outside the agreed conditions, by making a negative review if she didn't comply.
Naturally, it wasn't about the job, it had been all about seeking protection from an abusive client who had been intentionally pushing his luck.
Their answer did not provide either of us some confidence that Fiverr actually understood , and even at this point we felt like they didn't need to get involved.
At exactly the same time, she responded to the buyers newest threat, explaining that she would not continue to function with them unless the feedback was changed/removed.
(Again, this can be feedback which has been obviously and blatantly left to intimidate her into providing work outside of the agreed conditions )
A fair petition by anyones standards, correct?
As opposed to acknowledge what the buyer had completed until this time, Fiverr immediately turned the tables on my girlfriend.
Turns out, she had been the one breaking all the rules.
Because she had asked the client to change their feedback, she was no more entitled to some help from Fiverr support.
It's possible to imagine how we both felt studying this.
What the purchaser had said and done before her final message has been now being swept under the rug -- like never happened in any respect.
Fiverr essentially opted to encourage a manipulative bully, leaving my girlfriend with a permanent stain in an accounts she had worked so difficult to accumulate.
If everything that occurred was not troubling enough, it is knowing that this individual is still running rampant on Fiverr, preying on defensless sellers with no shred of repercussion.
And believe me, there are plenty of buyers doing precisely that on Fiverr, knowing they can and will get away with it.
But as most this was happening, I did a little investigating to determine if some other vendors went through a similar ordeal with an individual buyer.
Very quickly, I found a range of nearly identical cases on the Fiverr forum obsolete years ago. (that's correct, years.)
This is clearly something which's been going on for a long time and it stems from giving buyers also much power over sellers.
If there's 1 thing I have learned about Fiverr, it's that customers are ALWAYS more valued than freelancers.
Regardless of how long that you put into a project, or just how hard you've worked on it, or maybe how well you managed communication during a dispute, when it actually comes down to it... freelancers have little to no protection.
Even if it is a very clear cut case in your favor, there is still every chance the customer will come out on top. It takes it one tiny thing you"did wrong" in accordance with their own conditions of service and EVERYTHING else is disregarded
Looking at the signs, it's obvious to me Fiverr is well aware of what's going on, yet is still inclined to sit back and let it happen.
A Final Message To Fiverr. If you're a decision maker at Fiverr and you're reading this, I implore you to seriously reconsider your current support processes for freelancers.
It is not right that somebody can set all the time and effort in building up an account and also over-delivering at every conceivable chance, just to be taken down by the very people that you rely on to safeguard you.
Look, I do not need to leave Fiverr. I really don't want to be telling folks to prevent your system.
But after everything that's occurred, you have not left me any selection.
Until something is done to safeguard freelancers from using this kind of abuse, I'll continue to propagate this post and do anything I could to prevent others from falling victim to your one-sided support staff.
